Francis Gary Powers Jr. to hold lecture on July 23
OSCODA – On Friday, July 23, Francis Gary Powers, Jr., will hold a lecture at the Oscoda High School auditorium at 4 p.m.
He will discuss his father’s shootdown, imprisonment, televised trial in Moscow, exchange at the Glienicker Bridge that separates East Berlin from West Germany, and what he has done to set the record straight. According to staff, he will also talk about being a consultant in the making of Bridge of Spies.
Everyone is welcome to attend and the cost is $10. Tickets are available at the Wurtsmith Air Museum or online at wurtsmithairmuseum.net.
A book signing will follow the program and Powers will be available to autograph copies of his and his father’s books. Books can be purchased before or after the program. Books will vary in price.
