Oscoda Beach Park

  Oscoda Beach Park
Oscoda Township Beach Park is located on River Road on Lake Huron in Oscoda. This 
9.6-acre park has approximately 1,000 feet of Lake Huron frontage and a variety of 
amenities. In addition to the public beach visitors may enjoy the basketball court, skate 
ramps, a wooden band shelter, an accessible pavilion, boardwalk, 
sunbathing deck, children’s play equipment, picnic tables and grills. The site has an 
accessible bath house with restrooms. This park is home to the “Dock 
Reserve,” the historic site of a dock predating the Fire of 1911. This Park also hosts the 
Oscoda Art-on-the-Beach Arts and Crafts Show every summer.


Boat Launch

Oscoda Township operates two municipal boat launch sites. 

  •  Van Ettan Lake / Ken Ratliff Park 
  • Foote Site Park

Daily launch slips are available on site for $5 per launch. Seasonal permits may by purchased at the Treasurer’s office for $35. You must have a permit to launch any type of watercraft and it must be clearly placed in the vehicle for park staff to verify. Vehicles with no permit will be towed. 

Funds collected are used to improve and maintain our existing parks.

Billy McQuaig Park
This 40-acre sports complex in nearby AuSable Township has three softball diamonds with portable bleachers and cement block dugouts, three fenced tennis courts, a partially enclosed pavilion built by the Lions Club, a pumphouse, a concession stand, swings and picnic tables. Bathroom facilities are available. There is also a hockey rink and a skating rink at this site operated by volunteers of the Sunrise Side Hockey and Figure Skating Association. 

Fireman Park
This small community park located at Fire Department #2 on River Road at Rea Road near Footesite Village has a fire barn, horseshoes and some playground equipment. 

Piety Hill
Lovely Piety Hill includes 225 feet of frontage on the AuSable River with a stairway and a handicap access to a fishing pier.

Oscoda Huron Sunrise Park
Located approximately three miles north of Oscoda adjacent to Three Mile Park, this 14-acre beach park offers gravel parking along the side of the road and
accessible trails for bicycling along the Lake Huron Shore. These trails directly feed into Three Mile Park.

Oscoda Riverbank Park 
Riverbank Park is located on the AuSable River near the River Road Bridge near the downtown Oscoda area. This 5.2-acre park offers accessible paved trails for bicycling and walking, vault restrooms, picnic tables and direct river access for swimming, fishing and canoe launching/take out purpose and gravel parking. 

Furtaw Field
Located in downtown Oscoda on US 23 this 3.3-acre property functions as a town gathering spot that boasts a famous Paul Bunyan statue and is currently being utilized for community events. 

Sports Complex 
The complex includes 49.4-acres of Little League fields, soccer fields, a concession stand, flush bathrooms and an open air pavilion. 

Ken Ratliff Memorial Park 
Located on County Road F-41 on Van Etten Lake, this 11-acre park has approximately 3,000 feet of lake frontage with an enclosed pavilion known as the Warrior Pavilion, two accessible open air pavilions, two accessible boat ramps, groomed swim beach, children’s play equipment, picnic tables and grills, and benches. A snowmobile trailhead accessing miles of trails is also located at this park. The site has an accessible restroom facility.

Warrior Pavilion sits close to the beach with an outdoor deck on three sides. This has become a favorite venue for wedding receptions and other large parties. There is a full service kitchen and restrooms available. 

Foote Site Park 
Located above the Foot Site Dam on the AuSable River, along River Road National Scenic Byway, the three-acre site is owned by Consumers Energy Company and is maintained and operated by the Township. This is adjacent to the area where the privately owned AuSable river Queen docks. There is also a privately owned concession/gift shop adjacent to this site. This park has four privy toilets, paved parking, two boat launches and a children’s play area.
